Tuesday, August 19th, 2008The boutiques around here are very original. So D and I have made it our little project to photograph the ones that catch our eye.
Here are a few colorful examples, mainly from Old Montreal area.
The next one is actually a house number.
Menacing skies
Monday, July 14th, 2008Since we bought a polarizing filter (meant to bring out the blue of the sky) for our camera we started looking at the sky and the clouds more often.
With all the rain we’ve been having lately menacing clouds like these begged to be immortalized.
Aren’t these photos almost surreal?
Reminds me of Sin City
Thursday, June 5th, 2008This picture was taken a few night ago when we had this amazing thunder storm. I was hoping to get the photo of a lightening but alas, it’s really difficult. Especially in the city.
Montreal at dusk
Saturday, May 31st, 2008We took our Canon 18-55 mm lens for a test drive a few weeks ago and took these shots at sunset in a nearby park:
For these ones I set the focus at different distances and took 3 shots from the same place. I like what they turned out to be because they’re quite unusual:
Flower power
Monday, May 26th, 2008What do you get when you put together a Canon macro lens and a trip to Montreal’s Jardin Botanique? Let me show you what you get:
A picture of my feet taken while D decided to take a nap on the grass. So what if we’re outside, in a park? It’s nap time! So while I […]
After the rain
Wednesday, May 21st, 2008Last Saturday afternoon D and I bought some lunch and went to the park. And just our luck, it started raining. After we waited for an eternity under a tree hoping for the deluge to stop, we got so bored that we decided to go home despite the apocalyptic downpour. And here’s what we found […]
Perfect shopping day
Monday, March 31st, 2008I haven’t posted much lately, but I do have some exquisite tales simmering in the corners of my brain and they’re just dying to be written. Today’s post will be about how marvelous this Sunday was.
Yesterday was one of those days you plan for a long time and eventually it turns out to be BETTER […]
Lilies
Tuesday, March 18th, 2008My Grandma used to say that it’s not safe to sleep in a room where you had lilies, because the smell is TOXIC!
Well, I don’t know about that, I’ve had some lilies in the house for 1 week now and I’m not climbing walls or foaming at the mouth! The scent of these lilies is, […]
Probably the oldest thing under our roof
Sunday, January 6th, 2008I keep wondering why I love all the vintage stuff that’s lying around our house - old photos, old diaries, old school books.
It’s not a way of keeping in touch with the past, because that has never been my thing.
I think it’s more a beam of light on the life in those times, something […]
In love with “Friends” - an essay
Monday, October 29th, 2007This is an essay I’ve written as an assignment for my English class during my last year at Uni.
“Friends” has been an important part of my years at University in France and I thought, as a reward for putting innumerable smiles on my face, the least I could do was write a paper about it…
Hope […]
